Visonic's recently launched Personal
Alert Kit has received considerable
attention following the arrival of
the hotter weather and the tendency
for people to spend more time in the
garden.
The kit contains the brand new MCT-241
transmitter, operating on the 868
MHz frequency dedicated for security
systems. It also works outside the
property, linking to any hard wired
system, existing or new.
“It is ideal for anyone worried
about personal safety especially elderly
people who, in the summer months,
spend a lot of time in the garden,”
said Visonic's Business Manager Tony
Mann. “They can quickly trigger
the alarm should any threatening or
emergency situation arise, be it an
intruder or an accident in which they
become badly hurt.”
Using a Visonic
MCR 304 hybrid receiver the transmitter
connects to the existing or new control
panel which can raise an audible alarm.
Where the system is connected to a
telephone line the kit can trigger
a message requesting assistance to
several different pre-programmed telephone
numbers such as the ambulance service
or monitoring station as well as family
members, neighbours and private services.
At around £70, it’s not
cheap. But if it helps save a life
– what the hell!
