Timber frame, energy efficient, healthy, flexible, self build Super E house to be unveiled by the Government of Canada in Cornwall. The Super E programme - teams up Canadian housing exporters with UK builders to produce advanced, energy efficient healthy, homes.

This state of the art, energy efficient house is the first Super E(r) home to be built by UK builders DGS Construction and its Canadian partner DAC International. The method of Canadian construction is vastly different to a standard UK build.

Using advanced Canadian design software, factors like lighting, space, heating, cooling, ventilation, and layout are evaluated before any digging or building commences. Several large containers are then sent directly from Canada, containing the best part of a carefully packaged house

The house is going to be a retirement home for Doug Stewart and his wife Sarah. Doug was inspired to build to a Super E home after going back to university as a mature student and learning about the impact traditional UK building practices have on the environment. He is also a big advocate of the UK Government's Egan Report which promotes sustainability and pre-fabrication as the "way forward"
