New scheme aims to boycott
BP and Esso
With petrol prices in many parts
of the UK hitting 95p per litre and
fast heading towards £1 per
litre, a new scheme has been devised
in an attempt to hit the main suppliers
BP and Esso.
It is said to make more sense than
the “don’t buy petrol
on a certain day” campaign which
was going the rounds last April and
May. Apparently the oil companies
just laughed at that because they
knew motorists wouldn't continue to
hurt themselves by refusing to buy
petrol. It was more of an inconvenience
to the motorist than it was a problem
for oil companies
But, whoever thought of the new campaign
idea, has come up with a plan that
could really work well and they are
encouraging every motorist to join
in!
The campaign suggests that only way
motorists are going to see the price
of petrol come down is if they hit
someone hard in the pocket by not
purchasing their petrol! And motorists
can do it without inconveniencing
themselves.
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON'T
purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest
oil companies (which now are one),
ESSO and BP. Instead buy your petrol
from Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys,
Morrisons, Jet etc.
In other words, boycott BP and Esso.
If they are not selling petrol, they
will be inclined to reduce their prices.
And if they reduce their prices, the
other companies will have to follow
suit.
But to have an impact, the campaign
must reach literally millions of Esso
and BP petrol buyers. So ALL motorists
are encouraged to draw this strategy
to the attention of friends and relatives.
Let’s hope it gets some positive
results?
