It
says cutting carbon emissions doesn’t
mean lifestyle sacrifices
Now that climate change has become
a serious global issue threatening
our planet’s future, people
are seeking greater information about
where CO2 - the major green house
gas - comes from and how they can
help reduce emissions.
So, Good Energy has launched a “Carbon
Campaign” to educate and motivate
people to combat carbon dioxide emissions.
But does it mean severe sacrifices
all round? Far from it says Good Energy;
“We aim to demonstrate how low-carbon
living improves your lifestyle rather
than hinders it”.
The Carbon Campaign launches this
autumn and aims to illustrate how
people produce carbon dioxide emissions
and what they can do to reduce them.
Central to the campaign is the concept
that individuals can improve their
health, wealth, leisure time and even
their love life, by leading a low
carbon lifestyle.
Good Energy, supplier of 100% renewable
electricity, plan to team up with
press and broadcast media for their
campaign. Using competitions, questionnaires,
expert contributors and presenting
researched material for both in depth
and light-hearted features, the company
hopes to raise awareness and inspire
people to make a real contribution
to reducing the effects of climate
change.
Juliet Davenport, the company’s
chief executive, says: “Education
is an essential part of our remit.
We believe that people really want
to contribute to reducing the impact
of climate change but they don’t
know how and they are looking for
both guidance and encouragement.
“Our Carbon Campaign will show
them simple, effective ways to lower
their carbon emissions. The first
phase of the campaign is our Carbon
Challenge that’s designed to
engage and inform people. When they
realise the actions they take will
improve their lives and not detract
from them, we hope they will embrace
low carbon living and tell others
about it too?”
4ecotips will be following Carbon
Challenge very closely .
